Catastrophic Bleeding Management

This course is designed to suit workplaces and professionals likely to occur a catastrophic bleed. This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to control catastrophic bleeding in which direct pressure may not be enough.

What’s Included

The recent European Resuscitation Council guidance states that when direct pressure cannot control severe bleeding, heamostatic dressings and tourniquets are to be used. In light of this it is important that those working in high risk environments are trained to an adequate standard. This topic has never routinely been covered in First Aid At Work courses and should be seen as a top up to current training. Applying a tourniquet can save a life. But its also extremely dangerous if not done correctly.
