The Trusted Care Award is a form of recognition available to Nurseries, Childminders and other EYFS childcare providers. Its aim is to recognise those settings which demonstrate an excellent First Aid Safety network aimed at keeping children in the safest possible hands.
The Department for Education has said “Genuine award schemes designed to ensure that more people in childcare settings have the Paediatric first aid training they need so that they are able to deal with accidents and injuries for very young children are to be welcomed”. This award scheme sets out to reassure parents that the awarded setting is going above and beyond with its first aid provisions to ensure their children are safe.
Childcare providers must be able to demonstrate the following. This is above the legal minimum set by the Department of education and the HSE.
New applications are welcome. All childcare providers must meet the minimum criteria in order to be successful. There will be no cost to settings for unsuccessful applications. All childcare providers must also make a number of pledges in order to strive to remain operating at this standard.
